Wikinger Fire Truck

Our USA fire truck supplied to Wikinger Hot Dogs for their appearance at the Big Feastival

Utilising our newly completed top cooking deck, a team of chef’s and a custom makeover, our fire truck was a massive hit.

Wikinger’s one of Europe’s largest hot dog producers contacted us to see if we could help with a food truck to promote their brand at the Big Feastival, music and food festival.

After talking over a number of options, they liked the idea of the USA fire truck. Not only was it something unique in the UK, but the red colour scheme matched the Wikinger branding.

Their proposal was to provide a team of chefs to produce sample sized hot dogs in a number of styles to hand out to the festival goers.

The fire truck was split into two, the new top deck was finally operational and much of the cooking took place up top. The bottom deck was used for finishing the samples off, and loading the platters up for the event staff to distribute amongst the guests.

We provided;

Multiple soup kettles used to warm sauces and hot dogs

Multiple rice cookers which are ideal for rapidly warming hot dogs

A convection oven to bake the sausage rolls

High capacity deep fat fryers to fry the Korean hot dogs

In the event the split level cooking worked a treat, with most of the back of house services out of sight upstairs. Whilst the final steps downstairs provided enough theatre to keep people entertained.

At the end of the day, over 10,000 hot dogs were used, thousands of hats and t-shirts were distributed, and they even managed to fit in a hot dog eating competition.
